UC San Diego presents
The Myth Project: Altar
October
Written and Choreographed by Patricia Rincon
50 person capacity
Run Time: 50 minutes
The Myth Project: Altar is a dance theatre work highlighting UCSD’s Che Café, the historical, radical, youth-driven, iconic institution, which has been an eatery space and center for independence, political radicalism, alternative music, and art, since the early1980s. A site-specific journey that elicits flashbacks while constructing a contemporary story that spins through our present social political culture. The Myth Project: Altar is based on interviews with muralists such as Mario Torero, and writings from archives, blogs and news articles.
