At the Old Place

Intimate New Play

At the Old Place

July 5 - 30, 2017 | Mandell Weiss Forum

By Rachel Bonds | Directed by Jaime Castañeda

Facing a breaking point, a middle-aged woman returns to her childhood home to hide with a bottle and book of poetry. But a chance encounter with two young people camped out on her lawn leads to the discovery of the common bond that connects uncommon people. This keenly-observed, slice-of-life play evokes long nights spent on the grass with friends, considering the roads not taken – and the best way forward.

This world-premiere play from sought-after playwright Rachel Bonds is directed by the Playhouse’s Associate Artistic Director Jaime Castañeda, who helmed last season’s audience favorite Tiger Style! as well as the critically-acclaimed Guards at the Taj.
