La Jolla Playhouse presents
A La Jolla Playhouse Commission
Directed and Designed by Basil Twist
150 person capacity
Run Time: 30 minutes
At the water's edge, a fantasy emerges from the sea. Epic and intimate, and spun around the
mythic birth of Aphrodite, goddess of beauty, love and desire, specially- constructed puppets
enchant and invite us to dream awake before they return from whence they came. Accompanied by
Japanese master musician Yumiko Tanaka's live soundscape, the audience will gather on the
sands of beautiful La Jolla Shores for this one-of-a-kind event.
