A Midsummer
Night's Dream

July 20 – August 22, 2010

Sheila and Hughes Potiker Theatre

by William Shakespeare
Music by Mark Bennett and
Felix Mendelssohn

Directed by Christopher Ashley

In a Victorian Court of rules and constraints, Hermia is facing the threat of an arranged marriage. When she and her forbidden lover escape into the forest, her jilted fiancé follows in hot pursuit. But the woods and its mischievous fairies have their own surprises, and the lovers soon find themselves in a world turned upside-down — literally. When the heart’s desires are so strong, not even the laws of gravity can keep them down.

Experience the weightlessness of true love this summer in Shakespeare's classic story, revitalized in a world filled with an onstage orchestra, aerial acrobatics, puppetry and more.
