Here at the Playhouse, we’re proud to be a home for great artists, providing a nurturing environment for the creation of new work. Many of these new productions have transferred to New York and/or regional theaters around the country.

Last season’s hit musical Bonnie & Clyde just opened at the Asolo Repertory Theatre in Sarasota, Florida to rave reviews. Several cast members from the Playhouse production, including Laura Osnes as “Bonnie” and Melissa van der Schyff as “Blanche” are also starring in the Asolo offering. According to the Playbill.com, this exciting show may be moving to Broadway soon!

The Playhouse’s recent production of Notes From Underground opened to critical acclaim off-Broadway at Theatre for a New Audience last month, where the New York Times dubbed Bill Camp as “one of the bravest, smartest and most physically intense actors in New York.”

And let’s not forget the two Tony Award-winning, Playhouse-born musicals currently running on Broadway: Jersey Boys — which just celebrated its fifth anniversary in New York and boasts companies in London, Las Vegas, Sydney and on tour — and Memphis, directed by Playhouse Artistic Director Christopher Ashley, which highlighted the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade last week.
