“What Not to Wear” Comes to the Playhouse!

The ambush was a success! TLC’s hit TV show “What Not to Wear” just filmed an episode here at La Jolla Playhouse. Our tireless Associate Production Manager, Linda, has put so much time and effort into making our productions look beautiful; now it’s her turn to be the star!
The whole staff was in on the surprise, so we staged a big meeting in the Weiss Theatre to go over our new season. Linda came up on stage to walk us through our production calendar, but all of a sudden the projector screen switched from a spreadsheet to videos and photos of her from the surveillance footage they shot of her. As she finally realized something was going on, the spotlight hit her and Stacy London and Clinton Kelly came out from behind the curtain to greet her. She was stunned and excited, but kept her poise; as Stacy said, “You’re great on stage!”
So now she’s off to New York with $5,000 in her pocket to revamp her wardrobe. We can’t wait to see her at the reveal party! Stay tuned for information on when the episode will air and to see exclusive photos of her fabulous new look.
