Also featuring the Mike Pinto Band

Join SoundDiego and La Jolla Playhouse for a special performance from one of LA’s hottest ska/reggae bands, The Aggrolites. Representing the “Dirty Reggae” movement, the Aggrolites create music that is defined by their signature fusion of reggae, soul, grit and sheer determination. The Los Angeles Times called them one of “L.A.’s de facto house bands,” while LA Weekly praised the band for using “burbling bass; optimistic organ; compact rim shot-punctuated beats; and Jesse Wagner’s warm brotherly-lurve locals to create something that’s earthy and earnest yet utterly danceable.” Opening for The Aggrolites is the Mike Pinto Band, which combines classic surf with vintage rock, reggae and ska.

*Buy tickets to this event and receive a free download of three unreleased tracks from The Aggrolites’ new album, Unleashed Live Vol.1 and songs from Mike Pinto Band’s latest release The West is Still Wild.

This event is for ages 16 and up. Floor seats are reserved for those are 21+ only. Groups with patrons who are under the age of 21 must purchase tickets in the Balcony area.

The Aggrolites are more than a band they are a movement unto themselves. They carry a banner - one created with their own hands. This banner reads, "Dirty Reggae," and represents their signature fusion of reggae, soul, grit and determination. For seven years, this dirty reggae bunch has rolled from city to city, across the pond and up main street USA. They rally the kids, the parents, the students, the cops, the bosses and the drifters. The people come, they relish in The Aggrolites, the dirty reggae and the joy that comes with it all. The liberating rhythms and catchy grooves demand a return trip.
The Aggrolites have shared the stage with bands like Social Distortion, Rancid, Flogging Molly and 311. They have graced the stages at notable events such as Coachella, Vans Warped Tour, SXSW and the Sundance Film Festival.

Press and Reviews for The Aggrolites

"The Aggrolites, decked out in matching blue Dickies that suits their working-class music to a T, probably won a few fans of what they call "dirty reggae." In fact, it was almost as if front man Jesse Wagner was willing the crowd to warm up to the reggae. And they seemed to."
> LATimes.com

"The group's upbeat, soul-infused reggae attack puts the rock back in rocksteady. Mixing ska, Motown and punk-rock energy with Jamaican rhythms, The Aggrolites tear it up with the intensity of The Clash and the heart of the Caribbean."
> Ink Magazine

“Proving they could keep up with the hipsters, the Aggrolites drew a sizeable crowd during their midday set on a side stage at this years' Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival in Indio. Most of the crowd was on its feet, singing and dancing along. When the band closed with a cover of the Beatles "Don't Let Me Down," the audience continued to roar out the chorus long after the group exited the stage.”
